Western Pacific Feather River LEGACY Freight Set

Although not the largest road in the west, the WesternPacific was certainly one of the most colorful! This setpays tribute to some of the Feather River Route’s mostmemorable, including two of the “Fab 4” F7s whichsurvived into the 1980s in regular service. There wereprobably at least a dozen paint schemes appliedto their boxcars, but this 1952 experiment by PullmanStandard may have been one of the best.The WP often used its beautiful Feather River Canyonline as inspiration for its slogans and car art. A groupof converted covered gondolas made good use ofthe “big feather” to help highlight the smoother ridefor high-value steel goods. Like most railroads, the WPgot on board the bicentennial craze and decorateda locomotive, rolling stock and a fleet of highwaytrailers for the event. Bringing up the markers, baywindow caboose 444 in a bold lettering style! This setis sure to be a feather in the cap of any Western Pacificfan. Catch one before they blow away!
